Mahdi-based arts should be taken more seriously, Husseini
In the 8th International Conference on Mahdism Doctrine, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini, asserted that pursuing Islamic and Mahdi-related topics is the major responsibility of Islamic researchers and artists. IBNA: The 8th International Conference on Mahdism Doctrine was held on Thursday (July 5, 2012) at the conference hall of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).
In his keynote address, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance stated that researchers of Mahdism should present their findings to cineastes and artists to produce great works on the issue. “To counter enemies, we need to seriously pursue issues related to Mahdism in all aspects beginning from children’s games as well as movies and TV series and accustom the public to the philosophy of Mahdism.”
Husseini expressed hope that the outcome of the conference will be useful in resolving many problems for artists and prompt them to take large artistic steps in the future.
He went on to say that the issue of the last savior has always remained to be an attractive subject to the world. “In this regard, colonial societies have constantly tried to impose their views on the world by their artistic creations whereas in Hollywood they made hits about the doom’s day. As an Islamic society, we are obliged to consider the issue through an artistic stance.”
“Given 350 Quranic verses and thousands of Hadith on Mahdism, one cannot possibly deny the issue,” he further argued calling on artists and researchers to put Islamic and Mahdism issues high on their agenda. “World oppressors and colonizers have always tried to present and manage Mahdism topics in accordant with their own views.”
He further referred to the prophet’s method to face pagans in the beginning years of Islam. “Stronger slogans should be adopter towards enemies and they should be stood against.”
He finalized his address arguing that in Islamic and Iranian culture, arts are viewed from their spiritual aspects. “What is referred to as Satanic art is not art at all. Islamic and Iranian arts are mingled with excellence while Satanic arts are created in line with continuation of dominant powers on the world.”
Later in the conference, Mehdi Shojaei, novelist, Hujatoleslam Morteza Daneshmant, children literature activist, Dr Mahmoud Arjomand, researcher, and Hujatoleslam Ali Alhakim, foreign researcher, were praised as top Mahdism activists. Id : 142350 |
