  Precious Qurans displayed

A fair accommodating precious manuscript Qurans inaugurated in Reza Abbasi museum concurrent with Imam Hassan Asgari (A.S.) birthday. Entitled "Quran, the eternal mercy" the fair is house to 25 precious manuscript Qurans.
IBNA: The fair of precious Qurans was inaugurated yesterday (August 24) with the attendance of the head of Nahjulbalageh Foundation, Ayatullah Khazali. Moreover during the ceremony a Quran related to Imam Ali (A.S) was unveiled as well.

The guests visited the museum and the advisor to the foreign affairs minister, Dr. Mehrab Rajabi, the museum's curator, Sahba Kermani, the expert of mending manuscripts, Hamid Malekian and Mehdi Aghighi delivered speeches on precious Quranic works.

During the opening ceremony the fair's manager said:" The fair is house to manuscript Qurans belonging to the 2nd decade-13th Islamic calendar century."

Shahin Pour-Mohammad-ali unveiled Qurans related to Imam Reza and Imam Ali, two works which changed the fair into a unique one. He said:" Moreover the fair contains 2 works related to Timurid dynasty and belonging to Baysonghor mirza workshop."

Talking about the gold and silver Qurans he went on to say that that biggest Qurans are available in fair measuring 40x30cm as the smallest one is 4x6cm."

He added that the museum is totally displaying 25 Qurans, books and manuscripts.

The fair will run through the end of Ramadan for 20 days, he added.

The museums curator, Sahba Kermani said:" Among the precious manuscripts, the handwritten Qurans related to Imam Ali (A.S) and Imam Reza (A.S) as well as Kufi calligraphy Quranic scripts were displayed for their very first time."

Imam Ali's Quran enjoys unique Tazhibs (Islamic Arts) which belongs to the Qajay dynasty. The 2nd distinguished work belonging to Qajar as well, is Samen Ulhojaj. The book is penned in 10 pages in Kufi calligraphy on gazelle's skin alongside Safavid era's decoration.

He explained that mostly by the end of 1st century, Iranians used the Kufi calligraphy. The scientific and political books were authored in Kufi style; Persian words were merged with Arabic words and in a result Dari Persian, our current language, was created.

The foreign affair's minister said:" Quran is a savior. Some scholars have altered Quran in a Persian taste. Quran was descended in dawn and the book's owner was ascended in dawn as well."
