30 Nov 2011 14:19
In a meeting with representatives of book promoter firms, executive manager of Islamic Revolution Publishers Community highlighted the necessity of devising an all-inclusive distribution system for books.
IBNA: Tuesday evening (November 29, 2011), a meeting was held between Islamic Revolution Publishers community members and promoters of books in the Islamic Republic of Iran at Hoveizeh Hotel.

In his address, Hujatoleslam Reza Gholami, a member of the directors board of the Islamic Revolution Publishers Community, underlined the growth of Soft War against Iran and stated that despite massive technological developments in the past ten years, books are still resorted to as a traditional means for the transfer of cultural issues and are assumed a pivotal role in soft, cultural war.

He further stressed the need for preserving the modes of the Islamic Revolution and added that the community feels committed to involve the public with the current issues. "Popular organizations are non-profit and the community functions as a conduit to make links between them," he asserted.

He went on to say that the forgotten figures of the revolution should be brought back to public attention. He also called on informed revolutionary forces to engage in more social activities to materialize the leader's guidelines.

Later in the meeting, Meisam Nili, executive manager of the Islamic Revolution Publishers Community, delivered a speech in which he said that a thorough distribution system is still the missing piece in the publication industry of the country. If the piece remains missing, the industry will always stay economically frail and cultural products will never reach their target audience properly, he asserted.

He further defined promoter firms: a promoter firm can be applied to professional promoters of cultural stuff who provide the society with its desired books, Nili said. Sometimes, promoter firms are producer of book related stuff as well and even give cultural advice.

Nili further noted the conspicuous position of such firms in promotion of publication industry of the country and stated that they still need to be matched together to increase their functionality.

He also commented on the Islamic Revolution Publishers Community and asserted that the community is a formed by a group of revolutionary publishers and enjoys enormous potential. The community operates as a think tank for devising methods and modes for publication of Islamic Revolution teachings. "We have the potential to print a million copies of a specific book about the Islamic Revolution," he claimed, and to activate such potentials, "we need to muster cooperation of all publication sections to materialize the revolution's long-held ambitions."
