New Majlis releases to be unveiled
Scientific secretary of the 3rd History of Majlis Specialized Conference said the event is slated for May 17, 2012 in which new publications of the Majlis library will be unveiled.
IBNA: In an interview with IBNA, Ali Tatari stated that the conference is being held to praise a number of top document donors to the library of the House of the Representatives (Majlis). Besides, the titles which will be published in the next few days will be unveiled in the gathering.
A history teacher, Tatari went on to say that issues like the structure and functionality of the 13th to 16th editions of the assembly will be discussed in the conference.
As he said, over 180 paper abstracts have so far been submitted to the secretariat of the conference. “Members of the scientific board of the conference have accepted 100 of the papers until the present time,” he added.
He went on to name some of the central features of the conference like the variety of covered topics, geographical span of the submitters (researchers from a wide geographical range have submitted works to the conference), the number of submitted papers, and active presence of researchers, university lecturers and members of the scientific boards of universities all around the country.
After the conference, the accepted abstracts and articles will be separately published in books so future researchers will be able to follow the path paved by the scholars of the conference.
He further named some of the main objectives of the conference; “All the history researchers and experts of Majlis Documents Center believe that not a lot has been done on the history of Majlis especially in analytical topics and the published works about the issue are not very many. Therefore, in the last few years, the documents center of the Majlis library has engaged itself with signing contracts for completion of over 60 research proposals on different fields of history, media, politics, society, demography and the like with researchers and experts of the fields. It has also purchased over 100 invaluable historical document and image collections. Moreover, it has set up numerous projects on transcription of oral history projects and holding different conferences.
Moreover, he asserted that the one-day conference will be themed at the happenings of editions 13th to 16th of the Majlis including the events prior to nationalization of oil industry. Two roundtables will be held on the sidelines of the conference, he added.
The conference will be held on May 17, 2012 at the library of the Islamic Assembly in Tehran.
