In Esfand 1388 (Feb 2010) and with the approval of the cabinet during provincial trips, the total bureau of libraries in South Khorasan started programming for the building of libraries in villages with more than 100 families living.

IBNA: Moreover in 1388, the building of the first public libraries of Ghohestan, Tabas and Esfandan were started so that all cities of the South Khorasan would have their own libraries.

The idea of building 20 village libraries were suggested by the total bureau before the cabinet trip. It was also agreed to build the central library of Birjand from the site of national credits within a two-year project. The building of this library is in its initial stages and will be accomplished in a land of eight thousand square meters.

Among other ratifications of the cabinet’s third trip to the South Khorasan is special aid for the building and equipment of standard libraries at towns of the province, securing credits for extracurricular activities at public and communal libraries, providing required books of the libraries and help for their equipments.

In the year 1388, the total bureau of the libraries of South Khorasan programmed for the operation of library associations in crowded parts of the province.

Last year, about 2.470 billion rials were designated to the equipment and building libraries in South Khorasan from the site of financial possessions of South Khorasan province.
According to the contract signed between the total bureau of South Khorasan libraries and the bureau of the Institute of the Sandough Omran Moghoufat of the province, during the year 1389 (2010-11) parts of the sacred lands in different places of South Khorasan will be devoted to the building of libraries.
