A number of precious Quranic works were unveiled in a ceremony held on the sidelines of the 20th Tehran International Quran Exhibition in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini on August 6, 2012.

IBNA: In his address, Husseini highlighted the necessity of adhering to knowledge to reach power, dignity and progress.

Speaking of the fair’s popular reception, Husseini stated that holders and organizers of the exhibition are motivated to see such a large number of visitors in the showcase and would keep on doing their job much most enthusiastically.

He also marked the software movement and said, “Many Quranic verses stress the importance of learning and are regarded as motivators of a scientific movement.”

“Now that there is this scientific monopoly in the world in a way that our children are forbidden to study in many countries of the world, we should do our best to take steps forward,” he added. “Fortunately, the scientific growth of our country in the recent years has been unprecedented and has astonished everyone. The Science Generation Software and the Software Movement have been produced in the same line and I hope the Supreme Leader’s guidelines regarding freethinking discourses and theorizing chambers will be materialized.”

Elsewhere in his speech, Husseini spoke about computer games based on Quranic ideas. “Instead of following west’s example in production of computer games, we should be able to devise our own games based on the pure Islamic culture. Our products should free us of the need to use other’s cultural stuff which is contrary to ours. We must be able to inspire everyone to air their ideas. Fortunately, a lot of good ideas have been submitted.”

Husseini further praised Alireza Behdani’s Quranic scriptures. “Alireza Behdani has been handwriting copies of the holy Quran since 1992 and has so far finished 45 copies. He has donated a copy to the president and another one to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. His works are being kept at various museums as exquisite Quranic copies.”

Besides all other attractive aspects of the holy Quran, calligraphy of its verses has absorbed Muslims since its revelation more than a thousand year ago, he added.

He also commented The Art of Reciting the Quran by Kristina Nelson and translated by Mohammad Reza Sotoudeh Nia and expressed hope that such works be completed by Iranian researchers on the holy Quran.

He finalized his address by saying that a total of 32 Quranic events are arranged to be held in the country.

At the end of the ceremony, winners of the Quranic computer games contest were honored. Also, the Science Movement Software, the biggest golden copy of the holy Quran, digital large format copy of the Quran, and the art of reciting the Quran were unveiled.
