Armenia hosts “Return to Book” festival
Yerevan’s Khnko Aper National Children's Library held “Return to Book” festival as well as program on commemorating Hafez which was attended by Iran's cultural attaché and a group of school students. IBNA: According to the public relations department of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, during the festival Iran's cultural attaché Mohammad reza Shakiba delivered a speech about the importance of literature in conveying culture and ethics."
During the festival, which aimed to increase interest in reading, he added:" Literature, constantly, had a great role in the people's thoughts particularly the young adults since they get familiar with the life's values and moralities."
Moreover the library screened a film about Iran as well.
The festival was implemented by "Armenian Book Center" cultural union and Khnko Aper National Children's Library with the support of Armenia's Culture Ministry.
Numerous publishers, writers, art figures, painters from Armenia, Germany, France, Switzerland and other countries participated.
The festival was held on the occasion of Yerevan being chosen by UNESCO as World Book Capital for 2012 and the 500th anniversary of Armenian book-printing.
