2nd Print Quality Management Conference to be held during July 2012

Secretary of the 2nd Conference on Print Quality Management said the conference is aimed at formulation of methods for countering print industry challenges, making use of experiences of print industry scholars, and identifying quality augmentation methods for the industry.
IBNA: "For the expansion of Iran's print industry to regional and international markets and to prevent foreign orders for domestic print works, the quality level of the printed products needs to rise up in accordance with international standards," said Khohayar Sadeghi in an interview with IBNA.
He said the conference is an initial steps for the development of print quality management. Guidelines, instructions and methods are expected to be retrieved from the conference's sessions for the betterment of various aspects of the industry including commercial printing, packaging and digital printing, he added.
As he said, the discussed matters in the conference will be formulation of methods for augmentation of quality level of printed products, print industry's major obstacle, challenges and weak points in Iran, and development of guidelines and instructions for state and private print managers.
He went on to say that some of the conference goals are as follows: highlighting the scientific and theoretical bases of the print industry, focusing the industry's organizers to introduction of new topics regarding the development of the industry, making bonds between print industry organizers, forming academic and training centers for the industry, identifying the country's print industry scholars and masters, developing a clear image of the country's print industry status in scientific fields, and contacting specialized quality centers for provision of proper grounds for mutual transactions.
He also added that other goals of the conference will be providing the think tank for experts of the industry, heightening quality concerns for print industry organizers, setting competitions between print producers, manifesting the significance of the print industry to the public through media outlets, sizing up the industry's challenges and problems in world markets, getting to know the best printed works and their producers, contacting foreign scientific centers and inviting speakers and transferring the state of the art technologies to the country.
He further added that an exhibition of the worst print products will be held on the sidelines of the conference to show the weak points of the industry. Generating interest among print industry organizers to follow international standards and focusing on provincial print houses in Mashad, Tabriz, Isfahan and Qom are some of the programs of the conference, he stated.
As he said, the culture ministry, and the unions of print-house owners in Tehran, cliché makers and lithographers, binders, Tehran's book sellers and publishers, the print industry exporters, Mashad's print industry, Qom print-house owners, and paper sellers will be the major organizers of the conference.
Speeches, workshops and training courses are the gathering's main programs, he asserted. Also, the sideline programs of the conference will be exhibitions of domestic and foreign print products, educational posters, tools and equipments, university theses, and quality standards.
What is more, 14 specialized panels will be held during the 3-day conference: print and publication, print and graphics, print and training, print and security applications, print and pack, print and management, print and advertisement, print and students, print and bodies, print and specialized journals, print and the environment, print and quality control, print and information technology, and print and event.
Policy making in the print industry, production procedures in the print industry, quality assessment in the print industry, and securing the print industry's constant growth are the conference's chief themes, he added.
The 2nd Quality Management conference in Print will be held from July 19 to 21, 2012 at Tehran's House of Artists.
