Alberto Muravia’s “The Word Mother” to be released

12 Feb 2010 14:30
Alberto Muravia’s short story “The Word Mother” was translated from Italian to Persian and will be soon released.
IBNA: The story has been translated by Reza Gheysarieh from Italian to Persian and published in pocket size by Nila Publicatinos. It will be released by the end of the current week.

Gheysarieh is among the first translators to make translation of Muravia and introduce this Italian writer to Iranians. He has recently translated his short stories in Iran and had published his other books in the last five years.

Writing to IBNA, Gheysarieh considers the reason for the increase of interest in Muravia to be his ability of “telling” and writes, “if we ask ourselves why the stories of this Italian teller are appealing to Iranians and how today’s youth like to explore his stories more than the previous generation, we get one clear answer. We like ‘tales’ and Muravia satisfies this need.
Today generation is evading philosophizing and prefers ‘tale’ for the tale’s sake over tale for politics, for instance. It suffices to mention as proof that my translation of “Ruman tales” was first published in 1362 and was re-published after 16 years by another publisher.
