IBNA: A collection of lectures by Mohsen Rezaei has been prepared in a book by Pejman Pourjabbari and is published by the Foundation for Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values.

Commander Gholamali Rashid has written a preface to the book. A part of the preface reads as follows: “When it comes to strategic thinking, crisis management, deadlock breaking, mobilization of forces and facilities and applying them to operations against the enemy, no other war commander or general can hold a candle to Mohsen Rezaei; he should be held up as an example by many other commanders. Mr. Rezaei’s works and activities will remain as a distinctive defense method and future commanders will be proud to do things his style.”

The lectures encompass prominent views on commandership, military history of the Sacred Defense based on classical and modern defense schools of thought, political and military developments of war in a historical continuum, assessment of the war’s most important events given their historical backdrop.

Given his position in the war, the chief commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Rezaei was well-informed about almost everything about the operations.

He delivered his lectures in a Sacred Defense course held at Basij organization of university students in the years of 2004 and 2007. Moreover, his analytical lectures in a 2008 course on the Sacred Defense are included in the book.

Some of the book’s sections are the war before the war, the nationwide invasion, enemy’s impasse and balance of powers, passing the crisis and changes in the war, the lack of success period, the final victory, southern stop, western activities, and empirical expansion in the war.

In the first part of the book, Rezaei lectures about Iran-Iraq relations before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the expulsion and repression of Shiites in Iraq, deterioration of the relations at the beginning of 1359 year in Persian calendar, and the beginning of the Iraqi invasion to Iranian soil.

The footnote information provided in the book provides detailed data about the political Iraqi figures and the events in the 70s.

The book is arranged in 278 pages and its 3,000 copies have been published by the Foundation for Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values.
