Book on concepts of passive defense in urban management

Tehran Studies and Programming Center released a book titled "Concepts of Passive Defense in Urban Management: with focus on the capital city of Tehran".
IBNA: According to Tehran Studies and Programming Center, Dr Mahmood Askari Azad director of the center said the book makes a survey of the principles of passive defense in the country and finally focuses on passive defense in the city of Tehran concerning the critical state of the metropolitan.
He added: "Passive defense as one of the most effective and lasting methods of defense against threats has a long history."
Then defining the term, he said: "Passive defense as a part of multidimensional defense has a long history. The formation of tribes against battles and quarrels, refuge to the caves and holes, and formation of primitive civilizations by means of constructing castles, towers, bulwarks, and parapets are some old examples of this."
As stated in the book, with the expansion of weapons in recent centuries, the types and scopes of wars are also expanded. The development and emergence of technology in military domain, threat has permeated into newer fields and has become a multidimensional phenomenon.
