Translated by Maziar Moaveni Sarah Ruhl's "The Clean House" marketed
"The Clean House" a play by Sarah Ruhl, American playwright, has been released in Iran by Afraz. The work was rendered into Persian by Maziar Moaveni. IBNA: Sarah Ruhl was born in 1974 and has bagged several literary awards. The Iranian translator said that he has decided to translate the American author's works. Sarah Ruhl will be introduced in Iran through the translation of "The Clean House".
The Clean House was premiered in 2004 at Yale Repertory Theatre and has since been produced in many American cities. The play is a romantic comedy centered on Matilde, a Brazilian cleaning woman who would rather be a comedian.
Maziar Moaveni said:" Most Iranian translators convert contemporary European plays or they rather re-translate classic dramas."
