China and Taiwan negotiate E-book standards

8 Feb 2010 13:44
Representatives from Taiwan's economic affairs ministry and information technology industries are in China to negotiate standards for the booming E-books industry.
IBNA: According to Radio Taiwan International, the ministry estimates that the E-book industry in Taiwan will have a production value of roughly 30 billion NTD (or 935 million US dollars) in the next two years.

The negotiations are being held with China’s information industry ministry. Topics include the Chinese-language typesetting standards as well as other technical integration issues.
Last year, E-book sales in China only accounted for 100,000 models for the whole year. Now, retailers are selling 100,000 E-books per month.
