IBNA interviews Jalal winner With whatever ideas writers should act pro people
Mansour Anvari, first winner of Jalal Al-e Ahmad literary award, shared his opinions about the current literary movements of Iran with IBNA, stressing that no matter what ideas one follows, he should only write for the society, people and truth. IBNA: Moments after the official reception of Jalal Al-e Ahmad Award, Anavari visited Iran Book News Agency.
There has always been a dichotomy in the literary body of Iran as obviously everyone is free to follow his own ideas of life and the universe, said Anvari in a conversation with IBNA reporters. He continued: "The quality of a literary work has nothing to do with ideological matters and everyone can produce a work of certain qualities, as we have seen ripe and perfect works produced by our enemies against Islam."
Writer of 'The War Road' continued: "Writing and art should serve the society. For instance, as religious ones our literature could be based on our religious beliefs and religious texts. But finally there is an incontestable principle that should a writer first of all have a mighty pen and then use it at the service of the society, people, and truth."
Referring to the War Road, he said: "I have spent years of my life on writing this novel a large part of which was spent on research."
He continued: "After the revolution, I expected many works to be produced and I felt that it is a must to write on significant subjects such as our country, the people and religion. Finally I came up with the idea of a novel, for it can attract more readers."
"%90 of the work is real and based on factual truth formed in fictional framework. And generally speaking, %80 of the events and incidents are reliable, while they are neither historical nor investigative. In fact, the book contains half a century of the folklore life of Iranian people, including the customs of the people living in the north of Khorasan and forgotten traditions of Iranian nomads," he explained.
Moments after official reception of the award, Mansour Anvari writer of 'The War Road' visited IBNA and became familiar with different services and activities of Iran Book News Agency.
