18 Aug 2010 16:02
IBNA: According to news, the third international book fair will be held from September 17 to 21 in Hanoi as part of the capital city’s 1,000th anniversary that falls this year.

Organized earlier in 2005 and 2007, the third one ought to have taken place in 2009, but the biennial event was deferred to celebrate the millennial anniversary.

This year, the book fair will feature samples and exhibitions of the local publishing industry related to Thang Long-Hanoi, including old maps, books, wood blocks, an old printer and giay do (nepal paper), which is used to make folk paintings like the Dong Ho or Hang Trong.

The book fair will be held over an area of 5,000 square meters and for the first time, will have both indoor and outdoor spaces displaying and selling books in nearly 2,000 subjects.

The third international book fair also welcomes the participation of 60 publishing houses, book distribution companies, stores and printing foundations nationwide. It is also the first time that the Deutsch Frankfurt Book Fair’s organizer is participating in a similar event in Vietnam.
