Iran, Turkmenistan's cultural & scientific figures to be honored

Visiting Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Moradov, Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Husseini emphasized on holding cultural and scientific conferences for honoring Iran-Turkmenistan's distinguished figures as well as introducing their cultural works.

IBNA: According to the public relations department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Husseini had traveled to Turkmenistan for opening Iran's Cultural Week. Visiting Rashid Moradov, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister, he said:" Joint cultural and historical background, will pave the grounds for expanding Iran-Turkmenistan's ties and interactions."

He added: Honoring the distinguished figures of the field of art and culture including Turkmen poet Makhtum-Qoli, Anvari-Abivardi, Abu Saeed Abolkheir, Khajeh Yousef Hamedan, Najmuddin Kobra, Abolfazl Sarakhsi and Zamakhshari, the great Quran interpreter, are among the future plans."

Moreover Husseini said that Iran is ready to build a cultural complex and monument in Merv.

He added that Iran is also wiling to convey its experiences in the field of excavating ancient works, repairing historical works as well as preserving and mending manuscripts to Turkmenistan.

In other news he talked about the capacities of the ECO Organization for expanding Iran and Turkmenistan ties saying;" ECO covers a population of 450m people who hold common culture and civilization. Thus it holds a great capacity for cooperation."

Then, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister said that Iran's prosperity and its technical and scientific achievements are a glory for the region and emphasized:" Turkmenistan believes that Iran's security is its own land's security."

He said that the visit of Iran's Culture Minister is a significant step for deepening the countries' friendship and added:" Iran and Turkmenistan hold deep cultural and historical roots through which mutual cooperation could expand."

He added:" Imam Reza(AS) lived in Marv shortly and the people of Turkmenistan love him in a special way."

The journey of Imam Reza (AS) from Sarakhs till Marv isn’t an ordinary path; the people of Turkmenistan believe that it is a road towards spirituality, he said.

Moreover Moradov announced readiness for sealing the letter of Iran and Turkmenistan's cultural cooperation.

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Moradov and Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Husseini then inaugurated Iran's Cultural Week.

During is two-day visit, Husseini is supposed to meet Turkmenistan's officials and visit of the country's artistic, cultural and historical sites.

Iran's Cultural Week will wrap up on March 9.
