'Les funerailles de la Grande Meme' (Big Mamma's Funeral) is a short story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez about declaration of 9 days of public mourning for the death of a dictatress. It is converted into Persian by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

IBNA: The main character of "Les funerailles de la Grande Meme" is an elderly woman in control of a large area and lots of subaltern workers. Her power has made her an invincible dictatress who seems to enjoy an eternal deathless life. By narrating the 14 day span of time between her death and burial ceremony, the narrator makes a severe criticism of colonialism and dictatorship. 

Instead of a normal linear narrative, the writer has chosen a flashback third person narrative style in order to better inform the reader by means of reviving past memories. Flashback is a dominant literary technique in this short story.
