"Getting familiar with Ukraine" fair kicked off
The fair of "Getting familiar with Ukraine" was inaugurated in the National Library of Iran with the attendance of a group of cultural figures and foreign diplomats who reside in Iran. IBNA: The public relations department of the National Library reported that during the opening ceremony, held by the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) and Ukraine's embassy in Iran, the head of NLAI international affairs, Hamed Yari said:" In line with the library's international activities, programs will be held in order to introduce other countries' culture and knowledge of which getting to know Ukraine was the initial step."
Pointing out that Ukraine's culture contains eastern civilization symbols he added: "Besides Iran-Ukraine's political and economical ties the countries' scientific ties have expanded during the past few years."
Two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be inked between NLAI and Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and Ukraine's Archive in autumn, he added while saying that the collection of these events reveal a new chapter of cultural ties and interactions."
The secretary of Ukraine's embassy in Iran, Mika Mouchan said: "In order to introduce Ukraine's culture to Iranian, the fair displays books, pictures and Ukrainian stamps with a subject of history and today's life in Ukraine."
Mouchan pointed out to Iran-Ukraine's developed political, economic and cultural ties and added:" During 2010 many significant events have occurred in Iran-Ukraine's cultural ties. Holding such a fair created a great opportunity for introducing Ukraine's science, art and culture as it will be among the great cultural events in the countries' ties."
The fair of "Getting familiar with Ukraine" was inaugurated today, Tuesday, and will run till Thursday.
