Books source of sciences, thought: president
President Ahmadinejad attended the closing ceremony of the 29th Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Tehran's Vahdat Hall.
IBNA: The ceremony was held to praise winners of the Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In his address, the president highlighted the Book of the Year Award and said the event is important so far as books are crucial for humans.
"Books are important because everything about humans is important," said the president in his address. "Books are important for humans because they are the source of knowledge and thinking for humans."
He went on to say that God's greatest bounty to humans is science, knowledge and the ability to learn. "Humans are revered for their knowledge and wisdom," he said.
Where there is no knowledge and wisdom, humans' actions are valueless, he asserted. Actions are valued only when they have thinking and knowledge in their backdrop.
