"Iran's manuscripts as an index"
The head of Majlis publication said that a 12 volume collection of "Index of Iran's manuscripts" will be released and added: "The collection will introduce all existing books and manuscripts to the field's researches and individuals." IBNA: Kazem Al-e reza said that the collection is penned by Mostafa Derayati, a manuscripts expert and added: "The collection holds information about Iran's books and manuscripts in all fields including literature, history, social, religion, philosophy, jurisprudence, kalam and even gymnastics.
He went on to say that the collection holds information up to Qajar dynasty. Following that, while printing machineries developed manuscripts works shrinked in numbers.
He added that the collection introduces all the existing manuscripts in Iran even those which were penned in other languages including Turkish, Arabic, Urdu, English, French and etc. The data which is released on every work includes the name of the work, its author, subject and the date on which the work was written.
The 12 volume collection holds 10 books on introducing Iran's manuscripts and 2 other are the index of authors and compilers.
The 12-volume will be marketed in less than a month by Iran's parliament(Majlis) library.
