Iranian author to read books for Norwegian children

Iranian children's author Mohammad Reza Yousefi has been invited by Oslo Library to attend the book reading programs of Norwegian children.

IBNA: Mohammad Reza Yousefi had been invited by the Stockholm International Library to attend the International Children’s Book Week, to take place in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.

Following the programs the noted Iranian writer will travel to Oslo to participate in the Norwegian children's book reading programs.

The officials of Stockholm and Oslo libraries got to know Yousefi through his books which were released by Shabaviz publishing company. The company sends a copy of its new releases to other countries' public libraries in order to introduce Iranian culture and art.

Mohammad Reza Yousefi was born in Hamadan, Iran, in 1953. With over one hundred and fifty titles to his name, he is one of the most prolific authors of children's and young adult books in Iran.

He has received many prizes and a number of his texts have been adapted for children's and young people's theatre.

He has twice received the IBBY Diploma, and in 2000 was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Award.
