New call for Iranian works to register in global memory
Iran Global Memory National Committee launched new call for scientific-cultural centers' suggestions for register in UNESCO Global Memory plan. IBNA: According to the public relations of the National Library's documents center, in this call all cultural centers, libraries, museums and document centers in the country are asked to introduce works of their possession which are qualified enough to be registered in global memory by 14 December 2010.
According to the Global Memory national committee, the respective centers can get suggestion papers from the Global Memory National Committee database at www.irwm.ir and then send it together with relevant documents to the secretariat of the Global Memory national committee (The National Library, National Library Boulevard, after subway station, Shahid Haghani highway. Based on the Global Memory National Committee's statute, suggested works in Iran will be introduced to the UN educational-scientific-cultural organization at Paris after Iran Global Memory National Committee's selection to be registered in UNESCO Global Memory.
UNESCO has pioneered a plan called Global Memory since 192 in order to preserve and introduce the world's documented heritage and provide global access to it. So far, three works of Shahnameh Baisonghori from Golestan Palace, 'Vaqf-nameh Rob'e Rashidi' from Tabriz Central Library, and Astan Qods Razavi's collection of bureaucratic documents during Safavid period have been registered by Iran in this program.
