Individuality and Social Forms converted to Persian

15 Jul 2012 16:09
Shahnaz Mosammaparast has converted Georg Simmel's book 'Individuality and Social Forms' into Persian.
IBNA: Mosammaparast said: "I am thorough with the translation of Individuality and social Forms and am now writing an introduction to it. This work contains a number of Georg Simmel articles that are gathered by Donald Levine, a Simmel expert. Levin has divided these articles in six categories that outnumber 600 pages."

She added: "The philosophy of social sciences is the subject of the first category where Simmel discusses the possibility of history. The second part deals with different forms of social interaction with a significant note on the philosophy of money."

Mosammaparast added that domination, interaction and altercation are examples of forms that social relations are based on. Simmel separately discusses each of these forms, as of the stereotypes of the alien, the spendthrift, the stingy, the adventurous and the poor.

According to her, Simmel's articles on 'Freedom and the Individual' comparing the state of freedom in the 18th and 19th centuries, "The subjective Culture', 'Individuality and Social Structure', 'Fashion', etc. are also included in this volume.
The sixth chapter is then given to the dialectics of change in Simmel's ideology.

Mosammaparast finally stated that the book will be released by Saless Publications.
