"Lineages of the absolutist state" a book by Perry Anderson will be released by end of autumn. The work is the second volume of Passages from Antiquity to Feudalism. IBNA: Perry Anderson (born 1938) is a British Marxist historian and writer. He is Professor of History and Sociology at UCLA and an editor of the New Left Review.
"Lineages of the absolutist state" deals with the absolute monarchies. Absolute monarchies emerged from the crisis of feudalism which was tackled in the first volume.
Anderson begins with the conventional consensus: Absolute monarchies are the reconstruction of feudal state to defend the interest of ruling class. Anderson overviews the path various countries like Spain, France, England, Italy, Sweden, Prussia, Poland, Austria, Russia, Islamic world, and Japan followed from the 16th century to the emergence of modern nation-states.
The classic and comprehensive work has been used as a source in order to compile text books.
The work has been rendered into Persian by Hassan Mortazavi.
It will be published by Sal'es by the end of autumn.
