The House of Literati hosted a session this morning which was attended by the media fellows and managing director of the Fiction Foundation as well as the secretaries of the 1st Conference of Short Story Writers.

IBNA: The managing director of the Fiction Foundation Mohammad Hassani, the conference's secretary Hamid reza Shah-abadi and its executive secretary Kamran Parsi-nejhad attended the session.

Talking about short stories and its stance in Iran, Hassani said:" The form of short story is a significant and known structure. The specific style has been developed throughout the time."

He added: "The field's authors and activists have to meet which will indeed be planed during the Fajr decade and the world day of short story."

Moreover the conference's secretary Hamid reza Shah-abadi said:" Short stories are usually ignored as many authors and publishers mostly consider novels. All literary genres are significant and the conference will be held in order to pay more heed to short stories in Iran."

The conference is slated for Feb.14, he said and added:" During the program some authors and scholars will deliver speeches. Moreover the genre will be evaluated in Iran while its connection with other literary styles will be screened as well."

He added that the conference will be held on 6 sections including "Production of short stories", "The dependency of short stories with other literary styles", "Short stories in the west and its philosophy", "The translation of short stories in Iran", "The modern subjects of short stories in fictions" and "Effects of short stories on its readers".

Talking about the sidelines programs he added:" A 5 vol. collection of the world's short stories will be unveiled while stories will be read and an adaptation film and a short documentary movie will be screened."

During the ceremony 5 noted figures of Iran's short story genre will be honored.
