In a meeting with ambassadors of Germany, Armenia and Georgia to Iran, Bahman Dorri, Cultural Deputy of Guidance Ministry, said, "We should not let political considerations overshadow cultural issues".

IBNA: According to the public relations office of the cultural department of the guidance ministry, Dorri made his remarks in a meeting with the ambassadors on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of 29th Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

"We believe that the best book of the year of the works award leads to the spread and deepening of cultures in the world," stated Dorri highlighting the significance of the award in magnifying cultural relations between countries. "We maintain that the award should be held void of any political considerations and with the aim of transacting cultural and scientific values."

He further called on Germany's ambassador to Iran to ease the red tape on Frankfurt book fair for Iranian publishers and exhibitors.

He also commented on the 25th Tehran International Book Fair saying that the exhibition has made it easier for world cultures to interact.
