As tough as Iron: Sheikh Ahmed Yassin
The 8th volume of the 14-volum As Tough As Iron collection deals with the life and campaigns of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. The collection is published by Alhoda International Publications in English and Arabic. IBNA: Yassin was a founder of Hamas, an Islamist Palestinian paramilitary organization and political party.
The book considers Yassin’s complicated life and his assassination on 22 March 2004 in an Israeli attack. His political activities against the Zionist regime are also discussed in the volume.
The book’s main topics are Sheikh Ahmed Ismail Yassin (1937-2004), young Yassin, Sheikh and Hamas, Sheikh and Struggle with Israel and Sheikh’s Personality.
A part of the book reads as follows: “The name of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin is associated with the name of Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine, an Islamic movement which established hospitals, education systems, libraries and other services in occupied Palestinian lands, people had confidence in him and obeyed his orders and as Hamas was more introduced to the people, the more common people expressed desire to love him. Yassin, a quadriplegic who was nearly blind, had used a wheelchair since a sporting accident at the age of 12. His sickness progressed to the extent that there was no hope for his recovery…"

“On the day of his martyrdom he had been recently released from hospital with weak and crippled body. It was the month of Ramadan and Sheikh Yassin was determined for fasting. Therefore, he ate a little food and went towards mosque. After he performed prayers, he wanted to come out from the mosque. But his friends insisted to remain more in the mosque. But Sheikh said in reply: whosoever puts his trust in God, he will suffice him…”
