Alongside honoring Hamid Samandarian ‘Stage Is My Life’ unveiled
A ceremony was held, yesterday evening (27 February) in Iranshahr hall, on commemorating noted Iranian director, Hamid Samandarian and unveiling his book ‘Stage Is My Life’. IBNA: The commemoration ceremony of Hamid Samandarian and unveiling his book, ‘Stage Is My Life’, was held yesterday evening in Iranshahr hall.
The ceremony had no orator and it was held in sections as the opening ceremony of caricature and graphic gallery, unveiling sculpture alongside displaying a film, performing music, unveiling the books and displaying a movie and photos of artistes who had penned notes on Samandarian's commemoration.
Tehran mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf along with a group of actors and artists attended the event.
An exhibition of graphic designs and cartoons featuring Samandarian created by masters of graphic art Qobad Shiva, Ebrahim Haqiqi, late Morteza Momayyez and several others was inaugurated at the Iranshahr hall of the forum.
The ceremony continued with a group of artists and a member of Tehran's council, Morteza Talaee.
During the ceremony Hamid Samandarian's sculpture, created by Hamid Kangarani was unveiled and following that a movie on the sculpture's process was displayed.
The event carried on with Reza Kianian, noted Iranian actor, inviting Samandarian to deliver a speech.
Expressing gratitude towards the ceremony's officials he said: "Speaking before artists, who are just like my professors, is very hard. More deserved figures are attending the ceremony, who have to be appreciated instead of me.
Talking about his interest in theatre and activities, he added:" my father, Edward Max and Abdul Hussein Noushin had a great role in my theatre interest."
He added: "I believed that theatre, with all its power, met some deficiencies until I met Abdul Hussein Noushin. He had made up for the shortcoming which I think was related to the thought field more than any other category."
He went on to say that Noushin's theatre impressed me a lot and encouraged me as well. As his style of writing was my concern, my father sent me abroad to study. During my education in Germany I met Edward Marx who presented me the real meaning of theatre.
Moreover a movie was displayed which reviewed Samandarian's works. It was produced by Shahab Mahnegar. Performing "Amoroso" a music piece by Saeed Zehni was the other part.
He went on to say that Iranshahr Hall No.2 was named after Samandarian where a full-length statue of the master now is standing at its entrance.
As next year is the Year of Theatre, he added: "8 theatre salons which will accommodate 3,000 people will be ready. Moreover during the 3 following years, Tehran's great theatre hall will be inaugurated as well."
Moreover a movie was displayed on the publishing process of ‘Stage Is My Life'. The work holds Afsaneh Mahian's conversations on Samandarian's artistic activities and it released by Qatreh.
The ceremony was brought to an end by a live music performance by Saeid Zehni, a student of Samandarian.
