Attending the Tehran International Book Fair, president of the Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) Ali Mo'alem Damghani said that IAA steps towards lifting the deficiencies of written works in all artistic fields. Moreover it pursues introducing the rich history of Iran's arts and culture to the future generation.
IBNA: Mo'alem said:" The IAA should prepare whatsoever art fellows need. The group needs are categorized in two groups; whatsoever belongs to different kind of arts which are as historical treasures and should be introduced as the same form.
He added:" Imagination creates art. Sometimes a millennium or a century should pass since an art's formation, so human's imagination and experiences creates a new work."
Ali Mo'alem Damghani added:" The center's main goal is publishing books which hold messages for art fellows, particularly distinguished ones."
Talking about the academy's programs he added:" Nowadays our society encounters a great problem; the mechanic period wasn’t finished yet and the digital era has started. Accordingly we should leave behind our heritage for the next generation since they have a right to learn the history of their culture and arts. No certain steps have been taken yet."
Firstly the IAA tried to fill up the gaps existing in specific art encyclopedias. The books were among the necessities for which we had made special plans. Some new issues were on the agenda as well.
President of the Iranian Academy of Arts talked about the center's new books saying that last year, the Academy of Arts attended Tehran International Book Fair with 30 new book titles but this year the number has increased to 50 books and hopefully it will increase to 100 next year.
During these few days the stall of IAA has been received warmly.
The Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) was established in March 2000. It is one of the four academies of the Islamic Republic of Iran; the other three are: The Iranian Academy of Medical Sciences, The Iranian Academy of Sciences and The Iranian Academy of Persian Language and Literature.
The 25th Tehran International Book Fair is currently underway in Tehran and will run until May 12 at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground with the motto of "A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad".
