By Reza Dadoei Richard Platt's Cinema translated to Persian
"Cinema" a book compiled by Richard Platt is converted into Persian by Reza Dadoyi and published by Sabzan Publications. IBNA: Richard Platt is an eminent cinema professor at American universities with mastery over the history of cinema.
Dadoyi said: "As a cinema graduate, I enjoyed reading this book and unique subject matters introduced in it so much that I decided to translate the book to Persian."
"In this book Platt talks about various subjects like the birth of cinema and its inventors, first apparatus sets and their types, and screening methods in the history of cinema – issues that are less discussed in other cinema histories," said Dadoei.
This book is a visual guide to the history of the cinema - its technology and development from the first silent movies to epic, contemporary films. The history starts from the cinema's early precursors such as Javanese shadow puppets, the Magic Lantern and Edward Muybridge's experiments with the photography of movement, to the first movie cameras and projectors, the development of sound and the glamour of Hollywood. The book features all the major genres from Westerns to epics and from horror films to comedies.
The Persian rendition of Richard Platt's "Cinema" is published by Sabzan Publications in 111 pages.
