Culture Ministry is an administrative apparatus with a mission to elevate qualitative and quantitative state of culture and arts, and in the past seven years it has published 68000 titles during the 9th and 10th rounds of Iran's government.

IBNA: According to the Public Relations of Culture Ministry, the government's official database is releasing a number of reports reflecting the gist of services and activities undertaken by the state-dependent organizations and ministries under the title of 'Opportunity for Lasting Service' during the Government Week of Iran. 

Accordingly the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has also presented a report of its achievements during the 9th and 10th cabinets. 

In line with Islamic Republic of Iran's goal for promoting reading culture among the mass of people, the ministry has published 68000 titles - compared to 53000 titles recorded for the year 2005. 

Also the number of public libraries has increased from 1600 in 2005 to 2800 in 2011 and cultural artistic centers based in mosques have reached 13000 (in 2011), compared with only 2400 units in 2005. 

Moreover, the number of mosque libraries was only 1500 in 2005 but it has increased to 4500 libraries in 2011. Promotion of reading among mosque members and worshippers are the main goal of mosque-based cultural centers. 

Other noteworthy measures of Culture Ministry during the two cabinets are: issuance of activity license for local newspapers in all provinces and for periodicals at provincial, national and public levels reaching the total number of 2684 titles – that alone equals with all licenses issued for periodicals after the Islamic Revolution until 2005, formation of Islamic World Press Union with members from 38 countries, establishment of Information Technology and Digital Media Development Center budget increase ten times for public culture and 28 times for religion, as well as publication of 68000 title books until 2011, and winning the first position in the Middle East and the World of Islam and 10th position in the world. 

Culture Ministry has also held 34 film festivals centering on promotion of religious culture.
