Husseini: Tehran Book fair: opportunity for Islamic countries
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini, believes that Tehran international book fair is an outstanding opportunity for Islamic countries to communicate. IBNA: According to the public relations and international affair office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in his trip to Algeria to attend the 7th Islamic Conference of Culture Ministers (ISESCO), minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini, termed the international exhibition of books and media in Iran as a proper opportunity for Islamic countries to exchange ideas and experiences.
In the conference, Husseini addressed the audience in a speech about how Islamic countries should counter Islamophobia.
He highlighted the necessity of equipping reporters and journalists with the tricks practices by anti-Islamists and called for constant and expansive bonds between Islamic nations.
He went on to say that book fairs function as conduits for maintaining such bonds and added that the Tehran international book fair makes a great opportunity for Islamic nations to exchange ideas and experiences with each other.
He further raised the issue of journalism and reporters in Islamic countries and marked them as veritable and reliable news outlet. "Unfortunately, most of the reporters in Islamic countries tend to get their reports and news pieces from western news agencies which are often subsidiaries of the US and the Zionist regime," he stated. "Americans and Zionists, on the other hand, adjust their reports and analysis with regard to their interests and, of course, contrary to the wellbeing of the world Islam."
Member of the government cabinet of the 10th administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran went on to remark dialogue between religions saying that the Islamic Republic enjoys multifarious experiences and expertise in this regard given its center of dialogue between religions established some 17 years ago; it would readily transfer its relevant experiences to other Islamic countries.
He further noted that Zionists should be deemed distinct from Judaists. "Muslims may communicate with the followers of all religions and exchange ideas and views with them," he said.
Mohammad Husseini was welcomed by the Algerian minister of culture Khalida Toumi and Iran’s ambassador to Algeria Mahmud Mohammadi at the Houari Boumediene Airport in Algiers.
Algiers’ Conference of Culture Ministers is on the theme of “Towards Consolidating the Outcome of the International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures and Enhancing Youth’s Role in Building a Culture of Peace and Dialogue”.
The conference is a part of the celebration of Tlemcen as the capital of Islamic culture for 2011. Id : 125030 |
