Culture minister calls for more IRIB coverage of book events

The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has fulfilled a lot of activities regarding books and the national media (IRIB) is expected to disseminate news about the activities, said Culture Minister.

IBNA: This is said by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini in a meeting with managers and staff of the national media of Iran, in which he highlighted the need for broadcasting programs about the ministry’s activities regarding books, the Holy Quran and the Prophet’s house.

In his address, Husseini asserted that cooperation between the Culture Ministry and the national media (IRIB) creates a cultural stronghold which will be able to satisfy many internal and foreign needs.

He went on to note the vast size of potentials for cooperation between the two organizations which would accrue good results in national and international levels.

He further highlighted his recent visit from Shanghai. “Chinese officials admitted that they realized the greatness of the 25th Tehran International Book Fair through the TV,” he added.

As a result, he went on to add, they admired Iran as a country with a lot of cultural potentials and prowess.

The meeting was held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Niavaran Culture Center.
