  Bedtime Storytelling at TIBF

2 May 2012 15:42
“Bedtime Storytelling” is the title of a book by Beatrys Lockie that is converted into Persian by Akram Akrami and presented at Tehran Int’l Book Fair.
IBNA: According to Ghadiani Publications PR, the book is a guide for parents and kindergarten teachers. It is divided into four sections according to children’s ages ranging for children aged 3 to 7 years old.

According to the original publisher, this collection of classic tales includes advice on how to tell stories to children: how to establish a routine and create a mood; how to involve children and personalize your stories. Many are old favorites that are regularly told in kindergartens, nurseries and schools - tales about magical creatures and exotic animals as well as stories from everyday life. Many people say they cannot tell stories, but Beatrys Lockie is a firm believer that everyone can; it just takes a little practice.

Beatrys Lockie was born in Holland in 1927 and began to tell stories at an early age to anyone young or old who would listen. She moved to Scotland and was a class teacher. She believes in stories as integral part of teaching in the early years. After retirement she founded and ran a succession of kindergartens.

The book contains 40 sample stories and is rendered into Persian by Akram Akrami.

“Bedtime Storytelling” is published by Banafsheh Books for Children, of Ghadiani Publications, in 152 pages and 1100 copies. It is being presented at TIBF 25.

The 25th Tehran International Book Fair is held from May 2 to 12, 2012 at Tehran's Grand Imam Khomeini Prayer Ground with the motto of "A Quarter of a Century of Cultural Jihad".
