7,000 year of Metal Works in Iran reprinted
Penned by Mohammad Taghi Ehsani, 7,000 year of Metal Works in Iran has undergone its 4th print-run. The book was first published in 2007. IBNA: Handicrafts like metal works bespeak of Iranians’ creativity and arduousness within centuries and eras. 7,000 year of Metal Works in Iran considered the forgotten art in Iran since 5 century B.C until the Safavid era and studies archeological excavations on the skill from old times.
The book begins with copper. Its main topics deal with metal works prior to the emergence of Islam in chapters titled as the “treasury of silver stuff in old times”, “the bronze age”, “the age of iron”, “excavation of metals in old times” and “metal works under Achamenians”. Many pictures accompany the book’s descriptions of the works which make them more tangible for readers.
