IBNA: According to the website of the Iranian parliament (Majlis), Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister Seyyed Mohammad Husseini presented a report to the Majlis on Tuesday, July 3, on the plan of promoting social and ethical security. He said:" The main priority of the Public Culture Council, which is chaired by the Guidance Minister, is hijad and modesty and the organizations can adjust their activities according to the issue."

Talking about the cinema, the Culture Minister added:" Precious works are being produced themed on the Sacred Defense and revolutionary figures and most of them will be made by other provinces."

The minister added:" Do you think that all the scripts which are sent to the Guidance Ministry receive license? Mostly half of the movies are banned since they are not in line with the values of an Islamic society."

He went on to say that the works of the Ministry are based on Quranic and religious activities and asserted:" A week before the holy month of Ramadan, a Quran fair is held in Tehran's Mosalla which is unique in the world."

In the field of literature and poetry, which is welcomed warmly by the society, many major steps have been taken. Moreover in the field of digital media some 300 digital cultural centers exist and a secure cyberspace is being established, he added.

The Islamic Guidance and Culture Minister added:" We gained the first place in the Middle East and Central Asia by releasing some 69,000 books within a year."

The minister underlined:" Considering the Supreme Leader's emphasizes on promoting translations and book reading, many steps have been taken and great books have been distributed so far."

He finally said that the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have major plans for targeting our culture. Organized plans should be scheduled for confronting the enemies which will indeed give us strength to deal with them.
