As none of the submitted works for the 27th Book of the Award managed to win the award in the fiction category, executive manager of the Book House Institute Ali Shojaei Saein said he expected to see winners in the category.

IBNA: He accounted on the fact that no winners were introduced by the panel of judged for fiction category of the award and stated "regarding the failure of all the participants in Jalal Award for winning the fiction award, we appointed a new panel of judged for book of the year award. Again no winners were introduced to receive the prize." 

He said it was natural that some categories fail to win the award. In 1988, he added, 31 categories introduced winners while only 21 categories had winner last year. 

He expressed gratitude to see that a 50% increase in the number of submitted works to the award has been recorded and hoped in the following editions, winners will be announced in the fiction category of the award. 

The closing ceremony of the 27th Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran parallel with the 17th International Book of the Year was held yesterday in the presence of Iranian President Dr. Mahmud Ahmadinejad, minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mohammad Husseini, head of the Majlis Cultural Commission Gholamali Hadad Adel and Mohsen Parviz, cultural deputy of Guidance Ministry.
