School Dar-al-Qurans to develop into 10 thousand units
Director of the Ministry of Education’s bureau of propagating Namaz and Etrat mentioned the development of Dar-Al-Qurans from 600 to 10 thousand units to be one of the important programs of this ministry and added, “This program will be implemented at schools’ afternoon shifts with purpose of propagating Quranic culture. IBNA: Seyed Javad Beheshti said “During the previous years, the programs of 600 Dar-al-Quran units were performed as part of informal extracurricular activities and their administrators were school teachers. Under command of the minister of education, now there are 10 thousand units active within schools which work under supervision of teachers and trainers within and without schools and Quranic institutions throughout the country.
He exclaimed, “Despite increase in number of Dar-al-Qurans, there has been no alteration in content and headings and the centers keep working with the same Quranic subjects so far presented to the students and are held in one shift (afternoons).”
Beheshti referred to Quaranic contests at national level as another program of the Ministry of Education and said as a successful contest, the number of student participants has increased from 4 to 6 million.
“These contests will be held since Mehr at schools for encouraging students who like to have Quranic activities; the best of each school will be introduced to the district and then to the province and are finally chosen for nationwide contests at higher levels.”
He added, “The students interested in Quran are divided into three groups of top, average and weak. The Quranic contests are planned for top and average students, but Dar-al-Quran centers also have plans for encouraging weak students to take next steps.”
He mentioned that constant visits to provincial contests by authorities of the ministry of education is put in this year’s schedule and said, “A team consisting of 90 members from the ministry supervising these contests excited the administrators and led in to increase of the participants from 4 to 6 million students”.
