Bijan Jalali's oeuvre to be rendered into Italian

Domenico Ingenito, Italian poet and Persian language expert, said he is currently translating Bijan Jalali's oeuvre into Italian.
IBNA: As he said in an interview with IBNA, he has formerly rendered Forough Farokhzad's works into the language.
Ingenito is a Persian language and literature lecturer and attended the 6th Fajr International Poetry Festival.
He marked Iran as the ultimate cradle of poetry. "Persian poetry belongs to thousands of years and such festivals can work as an engine for Persian poetry," he said.
He went on to say that holding the festival in different provinces of Iran is a positive move by its organizers. Besides, "it is very fortunate for non-Persians to attend the festival and learn about Iran's contemporary poetry in person."
"Foreign poets can act like messengers of Persian language to their own countries and defy political boundaries," he added.
He expressed interest in reading Nima Yousij's pieces and stated that he translated Forough Farokhzad's pieces into Italian and is currently working on Bijan Jalali's poems.
Bijan Jalali was a prominent contemporary poet in Iran.
