Kalhor: “Novels of today's teenagers” a significant event for children’s literature

Mojgan Kalhor says that during the previous Iranian year the plan of “Novels of today's teenagers” was a great event for children’s literature which was indeed an effective plan for encouraging the publishers to release such works.


IBNA: Kalhor said that the in 1390(2011-2012), the main event in the field of children and young adult’s books was the plan of “Novels of today's teenagers”.
Before the plan, the market of teenager’s books was full of translations and the numbers of compilations were less, she added.

The plan succeeded since many books were released concurrently she said and added: Institute of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) released 20 novels which indeed increased the plan’s significance.

The poet and author of children’s literature added: Before the plan, the publishers were not interested in releasing novels for teenagers however IIDCYA’s move encouraged them.
She went on to say that the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) holds several branches throughout Iran and many of its mobile libraries are active in several points thus the novels were distributed among many Iranian adolescents.
She finally said that her New Year wish is writing a novel for teenagers.
