Iranian book shines at German Book Fair

"Demons Are Afraid of Humans in Daytime" penned by Ali Asghar Seyd Abadi was chosen as one of the top 15 books of the world during the 56th edition of annual international picture book exhibition in Germany. The exhibition kicked off on November 25 and will run until February 2012.


IBNA: At the 56th edition of the annual international picture book exhibition, Ali Asghar Seyd Abadi's "Demons Are Afraid of Humans in Daytime" illustrated by Peyman Rahimzadeh was chosen as one of the 15 superior children's books of the world. 

According to Farideh Khalatbari, the only Iranian publisher attending the book fair, this is not the first time that Shabaviz books are chosen in this book fair. Two years ago, seven works were chosen as top books of the world four of which belonged to Shabaviz Publications, she explained. 

"The Princess", "I'm Not Afraid of You and "The Land of Water Lilies" are some of the books chosen in the previous German children's book fair as superior world books. 

Referring to the criteria for superior books, Manager of Shabaviz Publications said: "Although a translated abstract of the books are submitted to the organizers of the exhibition, the content of the books is not estimated in this exhibition and the only criteria for choosing superior books are their beauty and proper book forms. 

The 56th edition of the annual international picture book exhibition started in Germany on November 25 and will run until February 2012.
