Iran Book News Agency (IBNA) - "Encyclopedia of Quranic arts", "Encyclopedia of Shiite arts" to be released

Press conference of Iran's Artists Organization's art research plans was held on Monday (September 20) in Iran's Artists Organization. According to the center's managing director Majid Sarhangi, "Encyclopedia of Quranic arts" and "Encyclopedia of Shiite arts" will be released by the center in Iran for the first time.

IBNA: The session was attended by the managing director of Iran's Artists Organization Majid Sarhangi and the center's research advisor Bahman Namvar Motlagh.

Firstly Sarhangi said that research has been ignored in all fields in particular culture and art. The field of research is the field of producing thoughts and modern professional creatively in cultural spaces and its ignorance will cause unstable development.

He added:" We have decided to establish research centers in the organization which indeed can be an appropriate venue for interested researchers specially the artists. Fundamental and practical researches could help the field of Islamic art and culture. "

He then prioritized the deputy cultural office's researches saying considering Islamic Iranian art and culture, emphasizing on theoretical basics and indigenous art, paying attention to civic arts particularly Tehran, considering daily needs specially the young generation's artistic needs as well as arts and artists economical problems will be among the works.

He explained that paying attention to Islamic culture and art will be among the research priorities and we believe that parallel with researching western art we can gain great experiences considering the Islamic and Iranian cultural identity.

Moreover he said that a specialized library will be established while library stations will be launched as well to promote book reading.

He went on to say that releasing research magazines of "Theory of indigenous art" and "Modern theories and criticisms" will be among our future programs.

In other news, "Encyclopedia of Quranic arts" and "Encyclopedia of Shiite arts" will be released by the center in Iran for the first time. The books will be released in order to reinforce Islamic foundations.

Then Namvar Motlagh said:" The deputy office's researches are divided into two groups according to their execution; interactive and non-interactive."

He added:" Distance fundamental researches hold encyclopedias, dictionaries as well as treaties and on the other hand strategic researches hold subjects including art interdisciplinary occasions and artistic forms. Moreover practical and interactive researches are research workshops and conversations."

Less illustrated dictionaries are released and most of the published ones are translations, he said and added:" Thus publishing illustrated dictionaries of Iranian and Islamic symbols, Shiite symbols and Iranian myths are among our priorities."

Currently the conference of Iran and Tajikistan's fictional literature, establishment of workshops of researching narrations, playwriting and miniature methodology, launching the data bank of research plans, the work's fair and unveiling a newly published book are underway.
