The three-volume series of Eugenio Galdieri's "Great Mosque of Isfahan" was first published in 1991. But now it is being republished by MATN, the Academy of Art's Press.
IBNA: Abdollah Jabal-Ameli said: "This is a comprehensive and practical book on the Great Mosque of Isfahan that was first published in 1991 in Persian on the occasion of the Global Congress of Isfahan."
"The author, Eugenio Galdieri, is an Italian archaeologist who presents a thorough documentation of all details of this building. The history of the mosque, different historical periods compared with other mosques, etc. are included in this series."
He finally added that the book is being republished by MATN, the Academy of Art's Publishing Press.
Abdollah Jabal-Ameli is ex-director of Cultural Heritage Organization of Isfahan and one of the main figures in rebuilding damaged monuments and locations of Dardasht after the imposed war.
Among his publications are: the translation of Eugenio Galdieri's "Great Mosque of Isfahan" and "Ali Qapu", as well as the translation of Romaldo Giurgola's "Louis I. Kahn".
Eugenio Galdieri Italian architect and archaeologist passed away on November 4, 2010 at age 86. He is known to all scholars on Iranian architecture. He graduated from the Architecture Faculty of Rome and was sent on a mission to Isfahan by Institute IsIAO.
His comprehensive researches on the characteristics of the historical building revealed many new physical and architectural aspects of these monuments. His works are translated to many European languages including English.
