Iran's Book News Agency (IBNA) 11 Apr 2019 - 16:47 -------------------------------------------------- Title : ‎“Sa’di and Schiller Conference” due in Tehran -------------------------------------------------- IBNA- On the occasion of Sa’di’s commemoration day, “Sa’di and Schiller Conference” ‎will be held in Tehran on Tuesday, April 16.‎ Text : According to IBNA correspondent, Sa di and Hafez from Iran and Schiller and Goethe from Germany are legendary figures of respectively Persian and German literature who have been influential throughout the world. Sa di and Schiller Conference is a program which considers the interaction of literature of the two countries by discussing the works of these two poets. The event is held in cooperation of the center of Sa di studies and Germany s Cultural Attach to Iran. Friedrich Schiller was the first German writer and poet whose work Kabale und Liebe (Intrigue and Love) was translated into Persian by Yusef E tesami in 1906. Schiller was also a close friend of Goethe as they frequently discussed issues concerning aesthetics, and Schiller encouraged Goethe to finish works he left as sketches. Sa di and Schiller Conference will begin with a speech to be made by the German ambassador to Iran Michael Klor-Berchtold and a number of Iranian experts will discuss various subjects focusing on Sa di, Schiller, poetry and drama.
