IBNA- Noted Iranian translator of the contemporary German literature Mahmoud Hosseinizad published the Holocaust book ‘The Diary of Dawid Rubinowicz’.
Hosseinizad said that he had translated the book from the German language forty years ago and could publish it at that time, but preferred it to be published now. Saless Publishing in Tehran has released the book.
Dawid Rubinowicz, son of a poor Jewish family in Poland began to write the work at the age of 12 in a labor camp where all Polish Jews were forced to go and finished that when he was 14. Later on, he disappeared forever, supposedly died there. The diary was found in Rubinowicz family house in a village and was published in Poland.
Having translated several key works, in 2013, Hosseinizad was introduced as the most significant German into Persian translator of the contemporary German literature by the Goethe Institute. He also received the Goethe Medal 2013. The medal is a yearly prize given by the Goethe Institute honoring non-Germans for meritorious contributions in the spirit of the Institute.
