“The Maxim Gorky Literature Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences warmly welcomes the cultural program "One Week with Chekhov" on the occasion of the 160th ‎birthday anniversary of leading Russian writer," said Polonsky in his message.   
The program will be held jointly by Tehran's Book City Institute and Russkiy Mir Foundation in Russia. The Iranian Institute has cooperated with many Russian universities literature centers and the Association of Moscow Writers and the Association of St. Petersburg Writers
The Maxim Gorky Literature Institute an institution of higher education in Moscow. It is located at 25 Tverskoy Boulevard in central Moscow.
Regarded as one of the best short fiction writers in history, Anton Pavlovich Chekhov has also a brilliant career as a playwright and his books are held in high esteem by writers and critics.
Several Iranian authors and playwrights such as Sadeq Hedayat, Mohammad-Ali Jamalzadeh, Simin Daneshvar, Houshang Golshiri and Akbar Radi have been influenced by Chekhov’s work. In the program Chekhov’s books will be reviewed and discussions will be held about his massive popularity among literati and readers.
