IBNA- The children book, ‘The Bird, the Boy and the Train’ by celebrated Iranian poet and writer Ahmad Reza Ahmadi has been published in Chinese through the Grant Plan of Iran’s Culture Ministry.
Receiving a €1000 grant from Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the work was translated into Chinese and has been printed by Cnpiec Publishing in China through the Kia literary agency in Tehran. The original Persian book was published by Iran’s Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (CIDCYA).
‘The Bird, the Boy and the Train’ which participated at the 54th Bologna Children’s Book Fair in April 2017, is centered on the story of a boy whose bird has fled through the windows of a train the boy is traveling by, and he searches everywhere to find his bird. The book was illustrated by Rashin Kheyrieh.
Born in 1940 in the city of Kerman, Ahmadi's first book of poetry, Tarh (Sketch), was published in 1962. His poetry has its roots in French Surrealism and the American Imagists specially in poets like Saint John Perse, Paul Eluard, Louis Aragon and Ezra Pound.
Ahmadi was the selected poet of 2006 in the Fifth Persian Award of Bijan Jalali, and he was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Prize in 2009.
