9 Jan 2020 - 14:31

IBNA- CEO of Iran's Book House Institute (IBHI) Niknam Hosseinipour expressed ‎readiness to launch a database of Iranian and Indian books to preserve the cultural ‎heritages of the two countries.‎

According to IBNA correspondent, at a meeting with authors in India's National Academy of Letters Hosseinipour who has traveled to India to attend the Second Regional Award of Iran's Book of the Year Award said at the event: "During the five days that I'm here, I feel that we two nations were born from the same mother and are dependent on each other."
He stated that we all are tasked with safeguarding our cultural heritage through producing books and transferring our knowledge. After the victory of Iranian revolution over 1500 books on the subjects of India, Indian studies, Indian philosophy and poetry have been released by top Iranian publishers, but is it also true about books on Iran published in India?
Hosseinipour added: “In our modern time, we need more cultural bridges to be made between the two countries. There is a great knowledge of preserving cultural heritages and manuscripts in Indian libraries, however, we should update and promote such knowledge in the information age. I suppose we need to launch a reviving movement to serve the cultural heritages of the two countries.
Ending his speech, CEO of Iran's Book House Institute invited Indian writers to Iran for further meetings and discussions on this issue.
Hosseinipour is paying his visit to India accompanied by Deputy of Iran's Culture Minister and Islamic Guidance for Cultural Affairs Mohsen Javadi and Secretary of Iran's Book of the Year World Award Ahmad-Ali Haidari.
