IBNA- The meeting “Illustration in Shahnameh” will be held jointly by Association of Iranology and Faculty of Literature and Humanities of Tehran university in which Iranian noted poet and painter Javad Mojabi will attend.
According to IBNA correspondent, the event has been scheduled for Monday, June 17, when Mojabi will deliver a lecture at theFaculty of Literature and Humanities of Tehran university.
‘Shahnameh’ is a long epic poem written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi between c. 977 and 1010 CE and is the national epic of Greater Iran. Consisting of some 50,000 “distichs” or couplets (two-line verses) ‘Shahnameh’ is the world's longest epic poem written by a single poet.
It tells mainly the mythical and to some extent the historical past of the Persian Empire from the creation of the world until the Arab conquest of Iran in the 7th century.
Javad Mojabi, poet, author, painter and journalist was born on October 15, 1939, in the north-west Iranian city of Qazvin.
His books as writer include, ‘Me, Ayoub and the Sunset’, ‘From Heart to Paper,’ ‘The bright Story,’ ‘Tablet and Ayoub.’ Also, his short stories consist of ‘The Night of Grasshopper,’ ‘Mummies,’ ‘Crossing the Red Light,’ ‘The silent Towers,’ ‘The Lost Garden.’
