IBNA- The illustrated Persian children book ‘Look at This Way’ by Ali Khodaei has been translated and published by Iran’s Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (ICIDCY).
According to IBNA correspondent, the book which is based on pictorial creativity has been translated by Siamak Mazloumi into English for the preschoolers and has won an Iranian Martyr Ghanipour Award.
‘Look at This Way’ tells its story through pictures which depict different point of views and highlights the idea of flexibility. The work features a semi-abstract painting in a forest which at first sight has no definite form. When different animals see the painting, they find their own image on the tableau based on their own point of view.
However, when they hear the opinions of other animals, they accept them and are enabled to see the pictures of others in the painting and actually look “flexibly”. In order to find the image of giraffe, they have to look at that upside down!
The original Persian book was published in 40 pages in 2017 University of Science and Technology of China Press has bought the rights of the book from Iran’s Center for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults and will soon publish the work.
